The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced

Assistant Medical Nurse

LOCATION 

Jezzin - South

SUMMARY 

Provides basic patient care under the direction of nursing and / or medical staff that are consistent with the psychological, social, physical, and general aspects of this care during working hours.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

-            Gathers and records beneficiaries’ personal and medical history in the related files

-            Takes beneficiaries vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, …) and records them in the beneficiaries’ files

-            Performs patient assessment and follows the nurse guidelines.

-            Identifies patients at high risk for Non Communicable Diseases and registers them in the MoPH  (Ministry of Public Health) program 

-            Supports generalists and specialty doctors in providing medical acts and follows up with patient during recovery based on doctor’s request

-            Provides continuous follow-up and reporting to the specialists in charge on the evolution of the beneficiary’s situation

-            Cleans, sterilizes, stores, prepares, and issues dressing packs treatment trays, and other supplies

-            Prepares and maintains the cleanliness of the examination rooms (examination table) prior to each patient visit

-            Organizes appointments for dental clinic patients and follows up on confirmation or cancellation with the patient.

-            Meets the needs of patients as soon as possible in collaboration with the dental laboratory.

-            Provides psychological comfort and communication with patients before, during, and after treatment.

-            Participates in the health awareness programs that the center has in or out of the center.

-            Re-stocks consulting rooms with appropriate medical supplies (needles, sterilized tissues, etc.)

-            Implements all requirements related to accreditation as per Local regulations relevant to above scope of work

-            Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta - Lebanon

-            Performs other related duties assigned by the Healthcare Center Administrator and or Center’s Physician

QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Completion of secondary education

·       3 years of experience as an Assistant Nurse in a hospital or primary healthcare center

·       Organizational skills

·       Attention to details 

·       Communication skills

·       Collaboration skills

·       Work under pressure

·       Ability to work and interact in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity

·       Ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles with regard to work with vulnerable populations

·       Computer literacy. 

·       Working knowledge of a Health Information System is a plus.

·       Good in Arabic & French (written and spoken). English is plus
