The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced

Driver

LOCATION 

Jezzin - South

SUMMARY 

Provides safe and timely transportation of staff, products, and materials to and from designated locations follows an established plan or based on requests and supports the medical and paramedical teams in handling beneficiaries and transporting them within the healthcare facility according to medical instructions and following hygiene standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-            Receives from the Healthcare Center Administrator the schedule of routing

-            Follows the planned agenda and instructions, and reports any deviation encountered to the Healthcare Center Administrator

-            Listens to traffic and weather reports to stay up to date on road conditions and adjusts accordingly the route to avoid traffic and ensure safe trips

-            Maps out driving routes ahead of time to determine the most convenient trip

-            Picks up people from the designated place and at the requested time to drive them to needed destinations

-            Respects traffic lights and national driving code of conducts

-            Reports any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to management

-            Assists visitors and beneficiaries in accessing the center’s premises (supporting people with reduced mobility with their luggage, commuting within the center, etc.)

-            Supports medical / paramedical staff in handling beneficiaries (lifting up, lying down, etc.) based on needs in line with safety instructions provided by the medical / paramedical team

-            Ensures that centers vehicles are clean and well maintained

-            Schedules regular vehicles services appointments and maintenance checks and updates the vehicle’s maintenance log (dates, operations done, etc.)

-            Delivers products, materials, and documents from and to the Healthcare center (from / to warehouse, laboratories, elderly people, etc.) as requested 

-            Abides by Ordre of Malta Lebanon’s code of ethics, mission, vision, and values

-            Performs other related duties assigned by the Healthcare Center Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS 

·        Completion of high school Secondary level 

·        Experience in a similar role as driver or stretcher bearer is a plus

·        A valid driver’s license

·        A clean driving record history

·        Visual acuity 

·        Knowledge of the use of GPS devices

·        Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods

·        Physical ability to lift and carry heavy weights

·        A polite and professional disposition

·        Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)

·        Initiative and drive for results

·        Good in Arabic & French (if possible). English is plus
