Medical Nurse

LOCATIONS 

Jezzin - South

SUMMARY

Supports primary healthcare center’s generalists and specialty doctors in delivering medical acts, manages vaccination plans and programs, provides emergency care and educates beneficiaries and the community on healthy lifestyle and disease prevention under the supervision of the healthcare center’s Chief Physician.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team of medical, paramedical, and administrative people to provide professional and quality healthcare service to the community

·       Follows up all protocols, processes, and procedures (disease prevention, infection control, …)

·       Welcomes patients and collects their files.

·       Provides basic clinical care for patients (providing vaccinations, wound care, taking vital signs etc.)

·       Performs patients’ assessment after taking the patient’s vital signs, personal and medical history

·       Identifies patients at high risk for Non-Communicable Diseases and registers them in the Ministry of Public Health program

·       Maintains a safe, hygienic working environment

·       Develops intervention plans for groups, families, and individuals.

·       Provides emotional and psychological support

·       Provides care for groups and individuals in remote locations and assesses the needs of the community.

·       Supports generalists and specialty doctors in providing medical acts and follows up with patient during recovery based on doctor’s request

·       Refers to the social worker unidentified social situations that need to be followed up 

·       Vaccinates patients as per established program and/or doctor’s recommendation and guidelines and maintains vaccination files up to date

·       Records beneficiaries updates in their files according to the rules and regulations while protecting / preserving the confidentiality of the information 

·       Participates to continuous quality improvement initiatives and diligently implements own part

·       Ensures that medical acts are performed within a safe and secure environment for beneficiaries, visitors, and other staff and reports injury and incidents in compliance with the Order of Malta protocol

·       Prepares reports and statistics required by LAKM and/or the Chief Physician related to the progress of the activities and their effectiveness.

·       Treats wound and injuries

·       Adheres to standards of care and professional practice.

·       Coordinates and/or participates with other members of the health team in providing health education in the health center, homes, schools or at the community level and prepares for it.

·       Participates to community-based activities aiming at educating beneficiaries about public health, healthy lifestyle, diverse health issues and related precaution measures

·       Supervises the work of licensed practical nurses and assistants.

·       Maintains the readiness of the center materials.

·       Collaborates with other specialties to facilitate patient care and related procedures.

·       Maintains the emergency Stretcher ready and clean (Check medications and materials expiry date).

·       Participates in the continuous LAKM medical trainings.

·       Performs other related duties requested by the Healthcare Center Administrator, Chief Physician, and the Nurse Coordinator.

·       Implements all requirements related to accreditation as per Local regulations relevant to above scope of work

·       Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Master’s degree is a plus
• 3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare center 
• Practice Permission
• Ability to conduct assessment of the person’s social and medical needs.
• Ability to work and interact in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a pressurized environment.
• Initiative and drive for results
• Proven communication skills
• Good Observation Skills and attention to detail.
