ABOUT US

The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced

MHPSS PSYCHOLOGIST

LOCATION 

Yaroun / Rmeich – South

SUMMARY 

This role includes conducting psychological assessments, offering counseling and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to promote holistic patient care. The psychologist will also focus on mental health education, prevention, and early intervention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-            Provides individual and group counseling sessions to individuals experiencing trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns.

-            Provides counseling to beneficiaries in OML.

-            Develops individualized treatment plans based on assessments and patient needs.

-            Develops mental health and psychosocial support programs in line with OML mission and objectives.

-            Implements programs aimed at preventing mental health disorders and promoting emotional well-being.

-            Maintains detailed case notes and confidential records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

-            Refers patients to specialized services if necessary.

-            Prepares and submits reports to the management, outlining the progress, outcomes, and challenges of mental health initiatives.

-            Conducts case-by-case needs assessments for the diagnosis of psychological disorders 

-            Conducts mental health awareness sessions when needed and requested

-            Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon

-            Performs other related duties assigned by the Head of Health and/or Head of Administration and Accreditation of CHCs

QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Master’s degree in psychology

·       Relevant certifications or training in trauma, crisis intervention, or social work is a plus

·       At least 2–3 years of experience in psychological support 

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work sensitively and empathetically with diverse populations.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

·       Knowledge of mental health disorders 

·       Compassionate, patient, and a good listener.

·       Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.

·       Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

·       Fluency in Arabic, and one additional language (French or English) is a plus
