ABOUT US

The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for experienced

Mobile Community Kitchen Driver

LOCATIONS 

South

SUMMARY 

Position for  1 Month

Provides safe and timely transportation of the food truck to and from designated locations; follows a pre- established routing or based on requests, follows traffics laws, and ensures that there is always enough fuel in the tank for the destination and that the vehicule is well maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Drives the MCK to the operation site 

·        Follows the planned agenda and instructions, and reports any deviation encountered to the field coordinator

·        Respects traffic lights and national driving code of conducts

·        Ensures the safety and security of the truck, staff and location

·        Reports any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to the field coordinator.

·        Ensures that the vehicles are clean and well maintained as well as routine maintenance such as fuelling, checking oil, water, battery etc.

·        Prepares logistically the MCK for the site operation 

·        Assists the MCK personnel in organizing the distribution flow.

·        Purchases the required goods and supplies needed for the operation of the MCK and the central kitchen

·        Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon

·        Performs other related duties assigned by the Field Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS 

·       Completion of high school Secondary level 

·       Experience in a similar role as Driver

·       A valid driver’s license

·        A clean driving record history

·        Visual acuity 

·        Knowledge of the use of GPS devices

·        Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods

·        Physical ability to lift and carry heavy weights

·        A polite and professional disposition

·        Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)

·        Initiative and drive for results

·        Good in Arabic & French (if possible). English is plus
