The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.
The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

SUMMARY
Coordinates the implementation and continued development of the Order of Malta Lebanon (OML) engagement model across all its pathways: OML Youth Teams, individual placements, activities and camps, academic, community-based, and corporate service initiatives, and national and international mission deployment, including both inbound and outbound pathways.
The role strengthens belonging, inclusion, continuity, and volunteer leadership grounded in humility and shared responsibility. It fosters civic engagement through service to people in situations of vulnerability and nurtures a culture of encounter, in line with OML’s mission, values, and safeguarding standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Coordinates the volunteer journey end to end (outreach, calls for participation, information sessions and engagement fairs, registration, onboarding, preparation, accompaniment, recognition, and continuity) across individual placements, local activities and camps, academic, community-based, corporate, and grassroots service initiatives.
· Coordinates national and international mission deployment, individual or group-based, inbound or outbound, including internationally-led camps, pilgrimages, and placements.
· Serves as the single point of contact for individual volunteers and works with OML entities, programs, and approved partners to match them with suitable engagement opportunities.
· Connects engagement initiatives with the people and communities they serve through the relevant focal points, following up directly with participants, parents, or caregivers when needed.
· Maintains regular field presence across Lebanon and builds trusting relationships with volunteers and participants; identifies barriers to participation and adapts communication and accompaniment to different ages, abilities, backgrounds, and support needs.
· Leads or co-leads assigned engagement activities, camps, and initiatives, ensuring meaningful participation and alignment with OML’s engagement model.
· Keeps engagement pathways inclusive, accessible, and consistent with OML’s code of ethics and safeguarding standards and reports any safeguarding concern immediately through the designated channels.
· Accompanies OML Youth Teams and their leaders in welcoming new members, sustaining healthy and inclusive team dynamics, and developing leadership grounded in humility, shared responsibility, and service.
· Coordinates youth-led initiative cycles prepare calls and initiative briefs, accompanies teams in developing proposals and action plans, and supports the implementation of approved initiatives.
· Facilitates gatherings, exchanges, and shared initiatives that bring together the wider OML community and sustain relationships and engagement beyond individual activities or formal roles.
· Manages the volunteers’ warehouse by ensuring accurate inventory, appropriate storage, availability, allocation, return of materials, and coordinating maintenance, replenishment, or replacement as needed.
· Maintains accurate, complete, and confidential volunteer and participant records, including administrative, consent, medical, emergency, and safeguarding documentation and relevant support information, in line with OML confidentiality and data protection requirements.
· Ensures the effective use of the volunteer database and engagement platform for follow-up, reporting, recognition, learning, and planning.
· Works with the Project Manager to align engagement pathways, activities, and youth-led initiative cycles with project objectives, workplans, indicators, budgets, timelines, and reporting requirements.
· Works closely with the Project & Engagement Field Officer on the operational and field support that engagement activities require, including on-site accompaniment, documentation, and deployment of engagement materials.
· Works with the Learning & Knowledge Coordinator to embed orientation, reflection, leadership development, and learning throughout the engagement journey.
· Supports the Pillar Manager in the operational follow-up of approved engagement partnerships, and performs other related duties as requested by the line manager.
Other
· Combines office-based and field work, with hours and presence adapted to activity schedules and operational needs. This may include evenings, weekends, multi-day field presence, and travel.
· Requires regular travel to field locations across Lebanon. A valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle are an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, education, community development, social work, psychology, communication, or a related field.
· Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in community or volunteer engagement, youth work, community-based programming, or a related field.
· Experience coordinating volunteers, youth-led initiatives, camps, or mission deployment is an asset.
· Previous volunteer experience, particularly with OML, and familiarity with its mission and culture of service are strong assets.
· Strong relational, communication, listening, and facilitation skills, with demonstrated ease in building trust and engaging respectfully with children, older adults, people with intellectual or physical disabilities, and people in situations of vulnerability.
· Emotional maturity, discretion, and sound judgment, with sensitivity to dignity, inclusion, confidentiality, safeguarding, and appropriate boundaries.
· Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills, with the ability to translate ideas into clear briefs and action plans and to manage multiple activities and deadlines with attention to detail.
· Ability to accompany volunteers and Youth Team leaders and foster leadership grounded in humility, shared responsibility, and service.
· Initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to navigate complex field realities and adapt to changing contexts.
· Good command of Arabic, English, and French, spoken and written.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with databases, registration tools, and digital engagement platforms.
