The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.
The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

SUMMARY
The Cook supervises the daily operations of the community kitchen, including meal preparation, management of kitchen staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, along with accurate inventory control.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directly supervise kitchen assistants, cleaner, and driver; assign daily tasks and monitor performance.
· Prepare weekly and monthly menus aligned with budget, nutritional needs, and variety.
· Determine food quantities required based on the number of beneficiaries and meals.
· Manage inventory regularly to avoid shortages or waste.
· Prepare purchase requests for kitchen supplies and ingredients.
· Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
· Oversee proper storage of food items to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
· Coordinate meal preparation timelines to ensure timely delivery to beneficiaries.
· Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment and facilities.
· Report any issues, needs, or incidents to the CW Project Coordinator and Project Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Culinary certificate or equivalent practical experience preferred.
· Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food preparation, preferably in a community or institutional kitchen setting.
· Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
· Menu planning and cost management
· Team supervision and coordination
· Organizational and inventory management skills
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
