ABOUT US

The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 60 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for experienced.

Pharmacist

LOCATION

Beirut -Zouk 

SUMMARY 

Oversee the healthcare center’s pharmacy activity in compliance with professional practices, established SOPs and guidelines, dispenses prescription medications, and offers expertise, education, and advice on the safe use of prescriptions and healthy lifestyles to beneficiaries. 

Work Schedule: 3:00 PM Till 9:00 PM 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Creates and maintains beneficiaries’ pharmacy files on paper and in the Health Information System

·         Interprets and transcribes medication information on required documents and reports

·         Provides updated lists of available medications to primary healthcare center’s physicians 

·         Reviews drugs prescriptions for any drug-drug interactions, drugs duplication, or inaccurate dosages and resolves them with prescribing physician

·         Dispenses drugs and refills ensuring they are in line with prescriptions and with good dispensing practices

·         Interacts and educates beneficiaries on their medications (usage, necessity to adhere to the treatment, drug interaction…) and on healthy lifestyles

·         Verifies medical reconciliations in beneficiaries’ files and checks for compliance

·         Checks completeness of beneficiaries medical files and coordinates with the Nurse to ensure all missing information (laboratory results, imaging tests results, ICD10 diagnosis, …) is added

·         Checks that working areas are organized and clean

·         Manages pharmacy stocks in compliance with good storage practices (receiving and quality-checking of drugs, drugs storage per category, expiry dates, rotation with respect to first expired first out (FEFO), shelves replenishment, …)

·         Communicates with central warehouse Chief Pharmacist and orders monthly needs for stock replenishment

·         Trains, coaches, develop Pharmacy Assistant(s) and monitors performance and results

·         Performs periodic and annual pharmacy inventory

·         Completes and compiles required pharmacy records and reports to be presented to the Ministry of Public Health, their partners and the Order of Malta

·         Answers incoming beneficiaries calls and Physicians and Paramedical team questions regarding medication.

·         Performs other related duties assigned by the Center Administrator

QUALIFICATIONS 

·         Pharmacist degree, registered at the Order of Lebanese Pharmacists, and with a permit to practice from the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in a position requiring drug stock management 

·         Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft Office 

·         Knowledge of Health Information System. Phenics is plus

·         Fluency in Arabic with an additional language (English or French)

·         Patient file management

·         Communication skills (oral and written)

·         Collaboration and Teamwork

·         Organizational skills

·         Analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and under stressful situations 

·         Ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles regarding work with vulnerable populations

·         Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
