True leadership begins on the ground, where communities face hardship with courage and resilience.

The Order of Malta Lebanon successfully deployed its 8th convoy to the border villages of South Lebanon, led by its President, Marwan Sehnaoui. He was joined by Mr. Imran Riza, United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon, underscoring the importance of close cooperation between local humanitarian actors and the international community during times of crisis.

Beyond responding to immediate needs, the mission sought to protect livelihoods, strengthen food security, and preserve access to essential healthcare. High-quality poultry feed was delivered to local farmers raising layer and broiler chickens, enabling them to sustain egg and meat production, safeguard their income, and support local food supply chains.

At the same time, specialized medical teams continued on-site health screenings and, for the first time in months, carried out essential blood testing sent the same day to our laboratory in Ain el Remmaneh, thus restoring access to vital services for residents living in increasingly isolated communities.

The convoy also translated into action the commitments made during an earlier meeting at between President Sehnaoui and representatives of the southern border region. This strong institutional partnership was reflected in the presence and solidarity of the Qaemaqam of Bint Jbeil, Mr. Charbel Al-Alam; the presidents of the municipalities of Debel, Rmeich, and Ain Ebel—Mr. Akl Naddaf, Mr. Hanna Al-Amil, and Mr. Ayoub Khreish—as well as local priests, municipal council members, and village mayors.

Amid the mission, a solemn moment was dedicated to remembrance and faith. In quiet reflection, President Sehnaoui paused before the tomb of the late Chady Ammar to offer a heartfelt prayer, honoring a deeply cherished colleague whose dedication and spirit remain profoundly present within the Order of Malta Lebanon.

Together with its local partners, the Order of Malta Lebanon remains firmly anchored in its mission: protecting human dignity, sustaining communities, and standing beside those who refuse to abandon their land and their hope.
