Like all the centers of the Order of Malta, it incarnates the values of Love, Dignity and Tolerance by providing its services to all in an area of mixed religious affiliations. Located in a very sensitive area in the Beqaa, the Barqa center was built in 1985 after the sad assassination of Father Nicolas Kluiters, a Dutch Jesuit Priest who was very active in the area and expressed to the Order of Malta the need of opening a healthcare facility.
