The Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta
The Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta is a non-profit association created on May 11, 1984 under the decision number 62/AD delivered by the Ministry of Interior by virtue of decree number 1633.
The Association is composed of 59 members who are referred to as Knights, Dames and Chaplains, who go about their daily lives while putting into practice four key principles:
- The spiritual values they vowed to uphold.
- A continuous respect for the Order of Malta’s ethics.
- The duty of ensuring the existence and actions of the Order.
- The continuous development of the Order’ actions in the future.
The Association is in charge of implementing the mission of the Order of Malta in Lebanon, whereby it is responsible for the financing of the Order’s works, activities and investments in Lebanon. It also handles the admission of new Lebanese members to the Order of Malta as well as the organization of the annual International Pilgrimage of the Lebanese delegation to Lourdes as part of its spirituality chapter.
Most importantly, the Association ensures the involvement and commitment of young volunteers, both local and international, in helping the sick and the poor. It supports the Youth of the Order in their activities, hosts the annual Camps for the disabled (Chabrouh project) and runs the Caravan Project.
9 members are part of the board of the Association, including:
