The Order of Malta is present in Lebanon since 1953, it currently manages a network of 60 different operations through which it assists and supports, across the Lebanese territory, every person in need, regardless of their backgrounds, personal beliefs, or affiliations. Its service provision to the vulnerable revolves around three main pillars: The Healthcare Pillar, the Social Pillar and the Agro-humanitarian Pillar, all while establishing a benchmark of excellence, respecting diversity, and serving with humility.

 

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced.

Program Manager

LOCATIONS

HQ – Badaro

 

SUMMARY

Responsible for planning, coordination, overlooking, and ensuring day to day smooth implementation, closing and the evaluation of project activities.

Provides strategic and operational leadership to develop and implement a successful program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the projects planning process ensuring sustainability and efficiency
  • Provides strategic guidance, strong leadership
  • Ensures the operational effectiveness of all programs
  • Elaborates a detailed activity plan to complete the project in a timely and efficient manner in compliance with the initial proposal
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting to the donors
  • Ensures that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Plans all required resources for the project implementation
  • Executes the project according to the project plan in direct coordination with the project team
  • Leads and motivates the project team to ensure that they can perform their responsibilities
  • Promotes a positive work environment and encourage collaboration and coordination across teams
  • Develops forms and records to document project activities according to the donors’ requirement
  • Establishes a communication schedule to update the management on the progress of the project
  • Ensures that the project implementation is compliant with the donors’ rules and regulations and are relevant to the mission and vision of the Organization
  • Develops budget forecast plan and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Monitors the budget on a regular basis (bimonthly) and ensure that financial records are up to date
  • Builds relationship with beneficiary communities
  • Works closely with the financial department to prepare financial reports and supporting documentation for donors’
  • Prepares payment requests
  • Conducts field visits when needed
  • Coordinates with the M&E department to monitor the progress of the project against set indicators in a timely manner
  • Coordinates with the procurement department to plan the purchases of goods and services
  • Coordinates with the communication department regarding all external communications and visibility
  • Drafts a gap analysis for any delay or challenges and take necessary corrective and preventive actions accordingly
  • Elaborates monthly progress narrative and financial reports to be checked and approved by the head of program
  • Supports in the development of new proposals and budget for new projects
  • Supports in the development and implementation of the exit strategy
  • Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon
  • Performs other related duties assigned by Head of Programs

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Project Management
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience. An NGO experience is a plus
  • Experience in managing projects, monitoring and follow up
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • Organization and planning
  • Communication skills (written and oral)
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Detail and quality orientation
  • Flexible and adaptive personality
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft Office
