ABOUT US

The Order of Malta Lebanon has been operating in the health and social welfare sectors since 1957. It manages a network of 40 projects serving the most vulnerable populations, across the Lebanese territory including primary healthcare centers, mobile medical units, elderly day care centers, hosting centers for the differently abled and projects for the displaced and refugees as well as an agro-humanitarian project within the catchment areas of its centers.

The Order of Malta Lebanon has developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its social, agricultural and health services as well as its structures.

SOCIAL WORKER

LOCATION

SUMMARY

Support families and individuals with specific needs to cope with challenges they are facing in their lives and improve their psychological and social status. The social worker prepares, plans, implements, and finally evaluates special programs aiming at achieving a comprehensive, continuous social development and wellbeing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Map the available services in areas of intervention (Health, Education, livelihoods, etc.….), and update the service mapping periodically.
  • Carry out social, psychological and health care assessment needs in alignment with the medical and social strategies.
  • Log all activity data on Phenics and corresponding data sheets.
  • Formulate a social intervention plan and implement activities within the scope of the center’s outreach services in alignment with OML projects
  • Conduct initial assessment of potential beneficiaries / beneficiaries situation to determine social and economic needs through case-studies, interview techniques and other professional tools.
  • Create beneficiaries files and maintains an updated database.
  • Identify situations that need to be followed up, evaluate needs and organize support (including distribution of aids when available).
  • Ensure that all “in need” cases are identified and addressed when possible.
  • Offer information, support and referral for incoming people seeking help.
  • Manage cases in collaboration with multi-disciplinary specialists (psychologists, psychiatrists, …) and deliver related assessments.
  • Document, maintain and store records according to policies, regulations and procedures in a manner that preserves the confidentiality of the information (recording cases of abuse and domestic violence etc.)
  • Discuss with specialty doctors special cases of individuals refusing treatment with the treating doctors, and work to improve communication between patient and treatment team.
  • Receive distribution supplies and divides them upon priorities.
  • Report suspected cases of child and/or adult abuse, violence, neglect and exploitation
  • Provide legal information and refer patients to appropriate counselors and legal aid
  • Administer social visits and medical homecare visits to beneficiaries
  • Coordinate with social team for implementation of OML activities
  • Report to OML Social Coordinator on all related tasks
  • Attend training sessions, meeting and supervisions in order to maintain and enhance knowledge and meet certification and / or credentialing standards when relevant
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports related to the progress of the activities and their effectiveness
  • Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the healthcare center administrator and social worker coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in social work (assistante sociale). Masters degree is a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a social worker including social needs assessment
  • Working knowledge of social theories and practices
  • Knowledge of mental health in complex situations (IASC guidelines, Psychological First Aid, mhGAP…) and human rights-based approach in mental health
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients’ rights and social legislation in Lebanon
  • Social interview and assessment techniques
  • Communication and strong active listening skills
  • Empathy
  • Stress management
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Planning and organizing
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office…) including working experience with a health information system (Phenics or other) is a must

SUMMARY

 Provides high quality professional advice and support to managers and staff for all HR related matters. Supports in driving HR initiatives and projects in alignment with Human Resources Manager, monitoring staff performance, creating personnel records, following Association’s values and policies, implementing recruitment, and training processes, suggesting improvements to enhance people experience and overall effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the development and implementation of HR initiatives and Systems in line with the association vision and mission.
  • Assures that association employment, safety, labor relations, personnel, and equal opportunity policies and practices comply with the applicable provisions of Lebanese labor law.
  • Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon
  • Provides counseling on policies and procedures.
  • Maintains employee records (Attendance, personnel data…) according to policy and legal requirements.
  • Contributes to the development of HR policies, as requested.
  • Maintains a filing system to ensure documents and information are retained and easy to locate.
  • Maintains and update HR database systems, ensures the data contained within the system is current and up to date through regular data cleansing and auditing for consistency, accuracy and security.
  • Ensures accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of all HR data.
  • Assists with payroll HR projects and Ensures all social security & taxes statements and formalities (monthly & yearly), including engagement, termination, family allowance, end of service indemnity ….are timely prepared and submitted to the relevant authorities.
  • Ensures proper and accurate job descriptions are available for all positions and continuously updated, in coordination with relevant managers.
  • Participates in the design of the on-boarding curriculums, partners with managers for new hires on boarding.
  • Submits reports to senior management when needed.
  • Ensures that all staff are insured and liaise as a point of contact with the Insurance companies.
  • Generates and delivers reports and statistics on various HR topics and initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the HR Manager and the Executive Director.

SUMMARY 

Responsible for planning, coordination, overlooking, and ensuring day to day smooth implementation, closing and the evaluation of project activities.

Provides strategic and operational leadership to develop and implement a successful program.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the projects planning process ensuring sustainability and efficiency

  • Provides strategic guidance, strong leadership

  • Ensures the operational effectiveness of all programs

  • Elaborates a detailed activity plan to complete the project in a timely and efficient manner in compliance with the initial proposal

  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting to the donors

  • Ensures that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality

  • Plans all required resources for the project implementation

  • Executes the project according to the project plan in direct coordination with the project team 

  • Leads and motivates the project team to ensure that they can perform their responsibilities

  • Promotes a positive work environment and encourage collaboration and coordination across teams

  • Develops forms and records to document project activities according to the donors’ requirement

  • Establishes a communication schedule to update the management on the progress of the project 

  • Ensures that the project implementation is compliant with the donors’ rules and regulations and are relevant to the mission and vision of the Organization

  • Coordinates with the M&E department to monitor the progress of the project against set indicators in a timely manner

  • Drafts a gap analysis for any delay or challenges and take necessary corrective and preventive actions accordingly

  • Elaborates monthly progress narrative and financial reports to be checked and approved by the head of program

The Order of Malta is present in Lebanon since 1953, it currently manages a network of 60 different operations through which it assists and supports, across the Lebanese territory, every person in need, regardless of their backgrounds, personal beliefs, or affiliations. Its service provision to the vulnerable revolves around three main pillars: The Healthcare Pillar, the Social Pillar and the Agro-humanitarian Pillar, all while establishing a benchmark of excellence, respecting diversity, and serving with humility.

The Order of Malta Lebanon (OML), with the support of its partners, has recently developed a comprehensive multi-annual program to strengthen its healthcare, agriculture and social programs.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is releasing a Call for Interest for grains suppliers located in Lebanon to supply grains to several locations across Lebanon.
