To offer music in places where it is not found was the mission of the Order of Malta Lebanon throughout a partnership with the Foundation Resonnance.
Because music transports the souls, reconciles differences and heals enduring pain.
By putting the art of piano at the service of people in pain, the Order of Malta and the Resonance Foundation have decided to offer together moments of beauty, emotion and humanity to the underprivileged in the Orders various centers or those of our partners, through 12 concerts during the year 2018.
The first series of concerts, played by international pianist Elizabeth Sombart, Founder and President of the Rsonnance Foundation and accompanied by pianist Chantale Menassa, took place during the week of April 16th. Those were held to the benefit of children with cerebral palsy in Bhannes Hospital, Down syndrome children from Acsauvel, elderly people from the center in Roum (Jezzine) and sick people from Deir Al Salib Hospital.
Whether the elderly, the children or the sick, they all expressed strong emotions triggered by the healing sounds of Elisabeth Sombarts piano playing Bach, Mozart, Shubert and Ave Maria.
At Dar El Salib a patient reached out to Elisabeth Sombart thanking her for that amazing remedy shes offered.
At Roum center managed in collaboration with the Nabil Haddad Foundation, the elderly witnessed the power of reconciliation whereby Christians and Muslims enjoyed side by side the transporting power of music.
These 12 concerts are supported by Societe Generale de Banque in Lebanon, which we dearly thank for being with us in our aim to alleviate human suffering.
Wise words from the President Mr. Marwan Sehnaoui closed those opening concerts at Dar El Salib We are all equal in the face of God and pain. Let the music find its way to your hearts and guide us towards some peace.
