The Order of Malta is present in Lebanon since 1953, it currently manages a network of 60 different operations through which it assists and supports, across the Lebanese territory, every person in need, regardless of their backgrounds, personal beliefs, or affiliations. Its service provision to the vulnerable revolves around three main pillars: The Health Pillar, the Social Pillar and the Agro-humanitarian Pillar, all while establishing a benchmark of excellence, respecting diversity, and serving with humility.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced.

Health Coordinator

LOCATIONS

Beirut – HQ

SUMMARY

Provides technical support and input in health related OML projects. Reviews healthcare laws and regulations to implement in daily practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides professional leadership to all health staff on standards of practice, performance and associated professional matters through the promotion and development of the highest standards of quality and patient safety, and team working.
  • Aligns with the Head of Health on any matters of clinical practice, accreditation standards, health staffing issues or investment of resources that may influence the association ability to meet its strategic and operational goals or that may affect quality and patient safety issues.
  • Enhances the development and implementation of the association strategy and clinical developments to ensure that patients receive the highest quality of care.
  • Provides technical supervision to the association’s health programming activities.
  • Guarantees that health programs utilize standardized protocols, policies and guidelines according to the Ministry of Health.
  • Oversees closely with the health team to determine the training needs of the medical staff and makes sure that they have the necessary knowledge and capacity relevant to deliver and maximize the effectiveness of the services,
  • Collaborates with the Head of Health and the centers and accreditation focal points in all aspects of Quality and Safety
  • Does regular visits to the centers and mobile medical units (minimum one visit per center every quarter)
  • Makes sure that the distribution of tasks between the team members is equitable and follows the procedures set.
  • Supports the Head of Health in managing the budgets of health activities and makes sure that the spending is aligned with the budgets.
  • Ensures serious incidents are managed in a timely way and investigates thoroughly.
  • Delivers monthly reports on the centers and MMU visits to the Head of Health .
  • Supports the medical director to maintain adequate stock of supplies and drugs through review of data consumption reports, drug protocols, program budgets.
  • Supports in the selection and recruitment of qualified health staff.
  • Supports in the design and technical content of the awareness campaigns as well as activities related to various projects
  • Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the Head of Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in a health related field. Master’s in public health or health management is a plus
  • 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with NGOs and/or healthcare centers is a plus
  • Knowledge of cultural and political environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and management skills
  • Proficiency in Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Work, PowerPoint…)
