The Order of Malta is present in Lebanon since 1953, it currently manages a network of 60 different operations through which it assists and supports, across the Lebanese territory, every person in need, regardless of their backgrounds, personal beliefs, or affiliations. Its service provision to the vulnerable revolves around three main pillars: The Health Pillar, the Social Pillar and the Agro-humanitarian Pillar, all while establishing a benchmark of excellence, respecting diversity, and serving with humility.

In this framework, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta / Order of Malta Lebanon is looking for an experienced.

SUMMARY

Coordinates the medical activities related to female hygiene, women heath, gynecology and obstetrics within the Woman and Child program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with the health team to improve the quality of the female hygiene, women health, gynecology, antenatal care with a focus on positive pregnancy experience and to offer screening and management of pregnancies with particular attention to high-risk pregnancies.
  •  Participate in the development of the strategy to improve access to women health services in the centers.
  • Integrate the gender dimension and woman protection in the activities.
  • Establishes with the medical committee a clear schedule for prevention including screening, female hygiene, women health, gynecology, obstetrical consultations as part of the monitoring of pregnancy (uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies)
  • Connects the centers included in the program with the network of gynecologists and obstetricians in the surrounding, promoting Order of Malta as a reference in gynecology and obstetrical care and pathologies.
  • Coordinates technically with the nutrition specialists, the mental health specialist, and the social workers, to integrate these services in the program.
  • Plans, organizes, and ensures the implementation of health activities related to the prevention, women health, gynecology, and obstetrical program.
  • Assists, and collaborates with the field doctors and midwives when needed.
  • Support in training and supervising the OBGYN in the center through activities such as capacity-building, briefing/debriefing. 
  • Support in identifying trainings needs of the ALCM team related to gender and women’s health
  • Supports in finalizing the project protocols and aligning with the LPSP protocols and international guidelines.
  • Ensures the implementation of protocols by all staff to improve the quality of health care given to the youth, women, pregnant women and in post-partum.
  • Facilitates multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to discuss complex gynecology and obstetrics cases, patient care plans, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to coordinate women health, gynecology, obstetric services, referral networks, and community outreach programs aimed at improving women health, maternal and fetal health outcomes.
  • Keep abreast of current trends, research and best practices in gynecology, obstetrics, and women’s health care management to ensure quality health services and evidence-based care for women in general and pregnant women and their families.
  • Submits weekly and monthly reports for the implemented activities and the upcoming projected activities.
  • Applies and follows code of ethics, values, mission, and vision of Order of Malta – Lebanon
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the Head of Health.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • OBGYN diploma with 5 years hospital experience or 3 years similar experience
  • Master’s in public health (MPH) or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is a plus
  • Experience in Data Management, Basic Biostatistics in Public Health, and Clinical Research
  • Experience with Medical Writing and Communication is a plus
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Monitoring and evaluation skills
  • Ability to assess educational needs and design and develop responsible curricula
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and under stressful situation
  • Ability to adhere to ethical considerations and principles with regards to working with vulnerable populations
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity
  • Fully computer literate (Microsoft Office) and with health information system
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), French (written and spoken), and Arabic (native language)
